The applicant — and, where applicable, their sponsor or guardian — bears full and sole responsibility for the authenticity, accuracy, and legitimacy of every document and every piece of information submitted through the Portal, including but not limited to academic certificates and transcripts, passport and national ID details, medical check-up results, bank statements and proof of funds, sponsorship letters, and criminal record certificates.
AfriLink acts as a facilitator: we review, organize, and forward the materials you submit to partner universities and, where relevant to visa and admission processes, to embassies, consulates, and other institutions. AfriLink does not independently verify or authenticate documents issued by third parties (schools, banks, government offices, medical institutions, etc.). Embassies and universities may independently verify any document at their own discretion.
Submitting false, forged, or fraudulently obtained documents or information may result in, without limitation: immediate rejection of the application; refusal of a student visa by the relevant embassy or consulate, and possible flagging of future applications with that embassy; dismissal from a university, even after admission or enrollment, if discovered later; and immediate termination of the relationship between the applicant and AfriLink, with no entitlement to any refund.
Where an application is submitted by an agent on a student's behalf, responsibility for the authenticity of the student's documents remains with the student (and their sponsor, where applicable) — the agent's role is to assist with submission, not to independently verify documents provided to them. This does not limit an agent's own responsibility for any document or information the agent themselves knowingly falsifies or fabricates.
AfriLink may request additional verification of any document, contact an issuing institution to confirm its authenticity, or decline to submit any document or application it reasonably suspects to be fraudulent, without liability for any resulting delay.
If AfriLink, a university, an embassy, or a consulate later requests additional proof of the authenticity of a submitted document, the applicant agrees to provide it promptly.
